Privacy Policy

MEDlift is an exam-prep platform explicitly designed for university students in Jordan. We restrict access via .edu.jo email validation to ensure our content and community remain focused and secure. This policy explains what we collect and why.
1. Information We Collect
To provide you with personalized learning and faculty-specific question banks, we collect:
- Academic Identity: Your university email (.edu.jo), student ID number, and real name for account verification.
- Enrollment Data: Your selected faculty and academic year. This is critical as it drives the content you see, the QBanks you access, and peer leaderboards.
- Learning Telemetry: Quiz scores, video progress, notes, bookmarks, and time spent on subjects. This powers your analytics and spaced-repetition algorithms.
- Platform Usage: IP addresses, login timestamps, and device fingerprints to prevent account sharing and piracy.
2. How We Use Your Data
Your data is strictly used to improve your learning outcomes and secure the platform. We use it to:
- Deliver faculty-specific study materials and correct syllabus versions.
- Calculate your performance percentile against peers in your exact academic cohort.
- Enforce single-user account security and prevent content piracy.
- Send you academic announcements and system updates.
No Third-Party Selling
3. Visibility and Peer Interaction
MEDlift includes social and competitive features. Depending on the context, some of your data may be visible to other verified students:
- Leaderboards & Study Groups: Your name, avatar, and XP/streak may be visible to peers in your faculty.
- Discussions: Comments and questions you post are public to other students with access to that subject.
Your email, phone number, and exact exam scores are never exposed to other students.
4. Data Security
We use industry-standard security measures (including Supabase Row-Level Security and encryption at rest) to protect your account. Given the value of the medical curriculum, we actively monitor for account sharing. Attempting to share your account or scrape platform content may result in automated suspension.
5. Cookies and Tracking
We use essential cookies to maintain your login session and secure your account. We may use anonymous analytics to understand which features (like Mind Maps or QBanks) are most effective for learning.
